Thanks Carolyn. We won't have great Christian novels again until we start reading and supporting great Christian short fiction and Substack is the place to start.

This story is a great place to start reading, but I have a few more fiction pieces at Waymarkers: https://waymarkers.substack.com/p/umberto-and-the-duke

Thanks Carolyn, I enjoyed Rachael Joy Welcher's poem and how do we write Christian novels. I like to read historical biblical fiction like Tessa Afshar and a new book coming out by Katie Sampias "Her Story of Jesus" on Calla Press.

Thanks for sharing!

This made me think about this quote of CS Lewis talking to Tolkien:

"One day in 1936 or 1937, Lewis said to him, 'Tollers, there is too little of what we really like in stories. I am afraid we shall have to try and write some ourselves.'" —The Fellowship by Philip & Carol Zaleski.

Christians coming together to write what was absent in culture. Those two shaped so much of the modern world with thought. May we do the same.

Hopefully, one day I can make a list like this with many others.
