This is a beautiful interview and very inspiring. Thank you for sharing, Ben, and for your insights, Luci. By the sounds of it, I want to be like you when I grow up!
Have enjoyed Luci Shaw's poetry since the 1980's when I read her book of poems about the Incarnation. It's nice to read this interview and hear more of her heart for the Lord.
I adore this. I'm wrestling with my desire to invest more in reading and writing poetry and the lack of time I feel I have. This speaks to that desire beautifully. I'm looking forward to reading some of Luci's work!
Years ago I took a Poetry Course at Regent College in Vancouver with Luci Shaw. I have kept my notes and refer to them often. Thank you for this interview. I turn to Luci's books often as a source of inspiration and reflection.
At the age of 82 I am finally beginning to appreciate poetry, thanks in large part to Malcolm Guite, who I was able to be with a bit last October. Hearing what Luci says (and your great questions, Ben) helps give words to what I am appreciating. Especially good is the "looking for the Word beneath the words".

Thank you for this: It’s a gift and gave me joy when I read it. It was/is hopeful and inspiring.
