Thank you for this, Courtney. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how the lie of change-the-world radical Christianity has made ordinary faithfulness feel so inadequate to many of us, when it really is the only thing that can make a difference.
Beautiful and yet sad for the world’s extreme attachment to the upside down way, when Jesus was so clear about The Way of downward mobility - as Nouwen calls it. These small cares are all He asks of us really. If we all practiced caring for the small things, I can imagine a kinder, gentler world. Thank you, Courtney, for your insightful reflection.
